6 THINGS YOU CAN DO EVERY DAY TO KEEP THE ROMANCE ALIVE

Keeping the romance alive is easier than you think.

Just because you have finally settled into the stable and comfortable stages of a relationship doesn’t mean it is time to stop trying to keep things interesting.

You never want to feel that your partner is pulling away, and there is a multitude of things you can do every day to help keep the romance alive in your relationship.

Of course, we aren’t suggesting that you start doing things that you don’t like or giving in to your partner’s every whim. What it does mean is cultivating a sustained intimacy that helps both of you and keeps the relationship alive.

It is the responsibility of both partners to keep the relationship going smoothly, but if you are not sure where to start, there are a lot of little ways to do your part.

Here are six little daily relationship activities that you can do to help keep things fresh:

1. Ask about their day

Start by showing your interest in the form of questions about your loved one’s day. Identify what is important to them, whether it is their job, friends, hobby etc, and ask them about it.

2. Little gestures

Do something small, to let your partner know that you have been thinking about them. This could be something really basic, like making coffee, writing a note or sending them a couple of love quotes to brighten up their day. Small acts can go a long way and will be cherished in the long run.

3. Acknowledge their efforts

Let your partner know that you are thankful for some of the things that they do for you. Acknowledge the efforts that your partner is making and let them when something works. People are usually more than eager to go out of their way to someone they care about if they think it is being noticed and appreciated, and positive reinforcement will make the other person feel valued.

4. Have separate hobbies

It is nice if you have similar interests, but when couples do everything together, they lose some of the selfhood that once attracted them to each other. Our interests spark enthusiasm and passion, which adds new dimensions to our personalities, which gives a relationship its fire. Give each other room every now and again, and then come back to each other.

5. Remember physical touch

Every time you see your partner, embrace them warmly because it is important to keep the connection alive. Instead of rushing in to get to the next activity, stop and give each other a hug and a kiss. Of course, make sure this is something that you are both happy with, but it is a simple, easy way to feel close.

6. Do something new

Even if you can’t go out on big trips together all of the time, plan some little day trips or weekends away. A change of scenery and experiencing something new together helps to create intimacy and cohesion in your relationship. Couples who travel together learn new things with each other, overcome challenges together and create memories that will last forever.
