Dating Advice from Men for Woman – interview results

Dating can be tough…It’s hard to know how to act, how to dress, what to say… If you could just ask guys what kind of beauty they are looking for, it would make things so much easier!

Well, I did just that. I asked a few of my male friends for the best piece of dating advice they had to offer women. Some of the answers were surprising, but all of them made a lot of sense. So here they are, ladies…The unedited answers, straight from the mouths of men:

Steve, 25 years old: Dating more fun

“Relax! Seriously, if you’re too uptight to have fun I probably won’t ask you for a second date. A girl that’s having a blast is probably the most attractive thing on the Earth to me and I think a lot of other guys would agree. I once set up what I thought would be a really fun pizza and bowing date. The girl was too worried about her manicure to participate, so she watched while I bowled by myself. I was actually relieved when the date was over. “

Steve gives some good advice here. Dating should be a fun experience and if you’re too busy worrying that you might look stupid…well, you’ll probably end up looking stupid. Don’t be afraid to let loose a little bit.

Omar, 30 years old: Dress for success

“Go easy on the makeup and sky-high heals. I get that it’s fun for you to dress up and I like to see a lady that takes care of her appearance but sometimes you all go too far. No guy wants to kiss a girl with bright red lipstick because we’re all afraid it will smear all over our faces. Plus I really don’t want to listen to you complain about how your feet hurt.”

Ladies, feel free to put on some makeup, but try to make sure he can still see YOU. Neutral colors with maybe a little flush on the cheeks and some tinted lip balm might be the best way to go. Don’t wear any shoes that are hard to walk in or will hurt your feet. There’s nothing cute about that!

Jamie, 24 years old: Leave your BFF alone

“Leave your friends at home! I don’t know what makes a girl think this is OK, but inviting your friend to go out with us is a huge no for me. I arranged to meet this girl I had been talking to for a while at a nice restaurant. When I got there, she was waiting for me…with her friend. I was confused, to say the least. It turned out that the friend had just been dumped and didn’t want to sit at home on Saturday night. I never called that girl back, so I guess that solved the lonely Saturday night problem.”

I don’t even think I need to tell you why Jamie is right. He asked you on a date to spend time with you…Just you.

Mark, 22 years old: Letting go attitude

“Sometimes, a guy just isn’t going to call you back. It’s just how things work, and you might as well get used to that fact. Don’t sit around and mope over some guy that you went on one date with…If he doesn’t call back he obviously isn’t exactly your Prince Charming anyway.”

Chalk it up to a big loss for him and move on! There are other fish in the sea.

Christopher, 34 years old: Be yourself

“Don’t pretend to like something just because I like it! That’s my biggest pet peeve. I’m going to know you don’t really know anything about baseball right away…But if you tell me you don’t know about it but are willing to learn? Now THAT will make me think you’re a keeper.”

It’s been my experience that guys love to feel like they can teach you something. Ask him to teach you about something he loves and you can probably bet on a second date.

Jamal, 34 years old: Give me my turn

“I love to learn about a girl on a first date, but please leave a little mystery. I hate when I have to listen to someone’s entire life story on a date. Yeah, I want you to feel comfortable telling me things, but maybe I want to tell you about me, too.”

I know that it’s easy to go overboard when you’re nervous, but slow down on the constant stream of info about you. Make sure to ask questions about him, too!

So there you have it. Follow the advice above and you just may find dating success!
